World Autism Awareness Day took place on Thursday 2nd April 2026. To celebrate, we went out and about in Essex with our young ambassador, Alex!
About Alex
Alex is 9 years old and lives in Essex. He has a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD. Alex is excited to raise awareness of his experiences to promote Autism acceptance and inclusion.
Alex talks about his life with Autism and ADHD as a life lived with ‘superpowers’ and ‘challenges’.
In March 2026, Alex joined SEND Sensation as our first ever young ambassador – we are very excited to be working with Alex!
Out and About!
Alex has been visiting SEND Sensation’s partner venues with his GoPro, to capture his world view. In the coming months, we will be sharing his videos with the world. Keep an eye on our socials for these – we hope you enjoy them!

About this project
Alex joined SEND Sensation as our first young ambassador in March 2026. As an aspiring YouTuber, Alex wanted to capture his experiences using video. With the support of his Mum, Victoria, Alex has been visiting our local partners to find out more about the clubs and activities we offer – we plan to share these videos in the coming months!
To kick off the project, Alex has shared his experiences with us in the hope to supporting other young people to try new activities.
This project is part of our ongoing commitment to raising awareness, supporting families, and celebrating the individuality of every child and young person in our community. By putting the camera in Alex’s hands, we hope to encourage people to listen, learn, and see things differently – because understanding starts with perspective.
We know that every child with Autism is different. This project shares one child’s view, but we hope in the future, more young ambassadors will join SEND Sensation!
