An estimated 1.3 billion people experience significant disability. This represents 16% of the world’s population, or 1 in 6 of us (1). Today, Tuesday 3rd December, is International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The day is about promoting the rights and wellbeing of persons with disabilities around the world and raising awareness of issues affecting persons with disabilities.

This year, the theme is ‘ Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future’. When more people with disabilities actively shape our world, we can build an inclusive future where everyone can participate and be represented.
