Rusty’s Story*

Rusty is a young man that attends the Disability4Sport Friday Football sessions. Below you can read feedback from Rusty’s parent.

“I never thought my son would be interested in football, and I can honestly say that I do not believe he would want to attend any other football session. These sessions offer something truly special that goes far beyond the sport itself.

It has been wonderful to see the connections my son has made with both other children and the adults supporting the sessions. He regularly talks about how amazing Monika, Louis, and Josh are, and as a parent, I have complete faith in them; not only to keep him safe, but to ensure his individual needs are understood and met.

My son, Rusty, never wants to miss a session, no matter the weather. The reliability of the sessions is incredibly important to us, and knowing that they are always running provides reassurance and stability, which makes a huge difference for him.

Although Rusty does not attend specifically for the football, it has been lovely to see him gradually develop an understanding of the game and build skills around the sport; sometimes even scoring in the wrong goal, which only adds to the joy of watching his progress.”
