SEND Sensation is thrilled to share our new Co-Production Report.
For the past two years, we have been listening to parents and carers across Mid and North Essex, learning what matters to you and how we can support families to access community clubs and activities. The result is our Co-Production Report.
Co-production is a term that is used to describe working in partnership by sharing power between people who use and deliver services. The approach is values-driven and built on the principle that those who use a service are best placed to help design it.
Through our Parent Voices groups, visits to Partner organisations and through out network, we have been learning about what matters to the parents and carers who are involved with SEND Sensation. We identified five key themes:
- Access and choice
- The SEND tax
- Navigation
- Training and understanding
- Visibility
In the Co-Production Report, we have outlined six recommendations for the year ahead:
- Improve access to clubs and activities
- Invest in marketing and communications
- Offer high quality training
- Embed lived experience
- Strengthen inclusion
- Keep going
The report includes a detailed Action Plan to show how SEND Sensation will do this in the following 12 months. Plans change and adapt, but our Action Plan is designed to be achievable and support us to move up the ladder of co-production.
