Essex Youth Build provides a safe, supportive and engaging environment where children can learn practical skills, build confidence and have fun during the school holidays.
The Holiday Trades Club is specially designed for children aged 8–11 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), offering hands-on activities in a calm, structured setting.
What is on offer
Your child will take part in a range of fun, practical activities, including:
- Simple woodworking projects (bird boxes, planters, crafts)
- Painting and decorating, wall and floor tiling
- Simple bricklaying and electrical works
- Problem-solving and teamwork activities
- Confidence-building through hands-on learning
- SEND-focused support throughout
- Small group sessions
- Experienced, understanding staff
- Real tools, real skills, real confidence
All activities are adapted to suit individual needs and abilities, ensuring every child can take part and succeed.
May Half Term 2026 – Construction Holiday Club
When?
- 26th May and 27th May
- Morning Session: 10:00am – 12:00pm. Suggested age group: 8–11 years
- Afternoon Session: 12:30pm – 2:30pm. Suggested age group: 12–15 years
- Full Day 10am-2.20pm with 30 min lunch break

Who can attend?
This programme is suitable for children aged 8–15 who may:
- Have an EHCP
- Experience Autism, ADHD, anxiety or other additional needs
- Benefit from a smaller, supportive group environment
